The RAF SEAC roundel was introduced in 1942 for aircraft operating under South East Asia Command. To prevent confusion with the Japanese Hinomaru, the traditional red center was removed and replaced with a light blue disc inside a dark blue ring. This marking was carried on Hurricanes, Spitfires, Dakotas, and other aircraft flying missions over Burma, India, and the Pacific. The adaptation highlighted the importance of camouflage and recognition in tropical skies where quick identification could save lives. This roundel is a unique reminder of the RAF’s global reach during WWII. Our distressed version captures the service-worn look of aircraft in some of the harshest environments of the war.
